Have you in the past five years accepted the following from an organisation that may in any way gain or lose financially from the publication of papers in the BMJ?
a) Reimbursement for attending a symposium?
No. I do not think that I have been asked to a symposium in my capacity as Editor of PMJ.
b) A fee for speaking?
No.
c) A fee for organising education?
Organising education is my job. So I get paid, of course. But not linked to work as editor of PMJ.
d) Funds for research?
No research funds at present.
e) Funds for a member of staff?
No.
f) Fees for consulting?
No.
Have you in the past five years been employed by any organisation that may in any way gain or lose financially from the publication of papers in the BMJ?
My organisation would consider that it gained "credit" by staff members publishing in the BMJ journals (all papers are listed in the annual report) - but there is no financial gain.
a) Do you hold any stocks or shares in an organisation?
Yes, including a few in Elsevier.
b) Do you have any other competing financial interests?
No.
c) I have no competing interests.
BUT I am on the RSM press board. There is no financial gain here. This has been declared and discussed before/as I became editor of PMJ. I think that it is not thought to be a competing interest.
