Martin Rossor graduated from Jesus College, Cambridge, and Kings College Hospital Medical School, London. He directs the Dementia Research Centre at the Institute of Neurology. He established a specialist cognitive disorders clinic that acts as a tertiary referral service for young-onset dementias and rare dementias. Clinical research interests are in neurodegenerative disease.

He is a consultant neurologist at St Mary’s Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, where he is chairman of the Division of Neurology. He is editor of the Journal of Neurology Neurosurgery and Psychiatry and was recently appointed director of the new Department of Health Clinical Research Network for Dementias and Neurodegenerative Diseases (DeNDRoN).

He holds positions on numerous academic committees and editorial boards as well as memberships of various learned societies.

Away from work, he enjoys horse riding and sailing.
